These free class timetable templates give you 8 Word documents: UK class timetables on A4 and US class schedules on US Letter, for primary and elementary, secondary and high school, two-week or A/B day timetables, and teachers. I’m Patrick Elliott, a teacher and Inclusion Lead. I write timetables for my own class and for students who need a copy in their planner, so I built these with UK and US wording and room for times, rooms and duties.
In this guide, you’ll find what each version is for, which one suits your class, and how to fill it in on screen or on paper.

What Is a Class Timetable?
A class timetable, called a class schedule in the US, shows what is taught in each lesson or period of the school week, with the times, break and lunch. Students use it to bring the right books, and teachers use it to plan lessons, duties and meetings.
Which Class Timetable Should You Use?
- Primary or elementary: five lessons a day with registration or homeroom, break or recess, and lunch.
- Secondary or high school: six lessons a day and a subject key with each teacher, room and what to bring.
- Two-week or A/B day: Week A and Week B on one page (UK), or A day and B day classes and rooms (US).
- Teacher: every lesson plus before school, break, lunch and after school rows for duties, clubs and meetings.
How to Fill In Your Timetable
- Type your school’s start, break, lunch and finish times in the Time column.
- Click each box and type the subject, and the room or teacher if you need them.
- Print a copy for the classroom wall and one for each student’s planner.
- Save the file, so next term you only change what is different.
Colour each subject with Table Design > Shading: it makes the timetable much easier for younger students to read at a glance.
How to Print at the Right Size
Print at 100% in landscape for the classroom wall, or at a smaller scale to stick in a student planner.
