These free business card templates give you 8 Word documents with eight cards a sheet and a QR code on every card: classic, split navy, QR code on the left and tutor designs, in UK and US sizes. I’m Patrick Elliott, a teacher and Inclusion Lead. I made my own tutor cards in Word and found the QR code was the part people actually used, so every card here has one built in with Word’s own barcode field.

In this guide, you’ll find which card suits you, how to type your details once for all eight cards, how to point the QR code at your own website, and how to print and cut them.

Which Business Card Template Should You Use?

  • Classic: your name in bold, a gold line under your company, contact details and a QR code on the right.
  • Split navy: a bold navy panel for your details and a white panel that keeps the QR code easy to scan.
  • QR code left: the QR code first and your details lined up on the right, for a modern look.
  • Tutor: made for tutors and teachers, with subjects and ages under your name and a Scan to book QR code.

How to Change the QR Code Link

Every QR code links to wordmadeeasy.org until you change it. To point all eight at your own website:

  1. Press Alt + F9 to show the field codes. Each QR code becomes DISPLAYBARCODE "https://wordmadeeasy.org" QR \q 3.
  2. Press Ctrl + H, type https://wordmadeeasy.org in Find what and your own link in Replace with, then click Replace All.
  3. Press Alt + F9 again, then Ctrl + A and F9 to update every QR code.
  4. Scan one code with your phone camera to check it opens your page.

The QR codes are made by Word itself — the guide on how to create a QR code in Word explains the field in full.

How to Print and Cut Business Cards

Print on card of 200 to 300 gsm (about 65 to 110 lb cover) at 100% or Actual size, then cut along the dashed lines with a guillotine or paper trimmer. Cut the long lines first, then the short ones, for straight edges.

FAQs

Why do all eight cards change when I type?

The details are linked, so typing on one card fills in the rest. That saves typing the same thing eight times.

Can I make one card different from the others?

Yes. Right-click a detail, choose Remove Content Control, and that card stops updating with the others.

What paper should I use for business cards?

Use card of about 250 gsm (90 lb cover). Check your printer can feed it, or ask a print shop to print the file.

What size is a business card?

In the UK, Europe and Australia it is 85 x 55 mm. In the US and Canada it is 3.5 x 2 inches.

Can I add my logo?

Yes. Click on a card, go to Insert > Pictures and choose your logo, then copy it onto the other seven cards.

Will the QR code work if it prints small?

Yes, down to about 2 cm (3/4 inch) across. Scan one printed code before you cut the whole sheet.

Conclusion

These business card templates put your details and a working QR code on eight cards at once, human-made by a teacher and ready to print from Word.

Choose your paper size above, download the ZIP, and for matching headed paper try the letterhead templates.
