These free ILAW lesson plan templates give you 6 Word documents on long bond (8.5 x 13 in) and A4: an ILAW lesson plan, a multi-session plan and a lesson planning self-check. I’m Patrick Elliott, a teacher and Inclusion Lead. I read DepEd Order No. 016, s. 2026 in full, then built these in Word to the Annex B order with equal writing rows and prompts you can delete.
In this guide, you’ll find what ILAW asks for, which template suits your planning, and how to fill one in on screen or on paper.

What Is an ILAW Lesson Plan?
ILAW is the lesson planning framework in DepEd Order No. 016, s. 2026, which replaces the Daily Lesson Log and Detailed Lesson Plan from Term 2 of SY 2026-2027. A plan has four parts: Intentions, Learning Experience, Assessing Learning and Ways Forward. The order gives a sample guide (Annex B) but says there is no required national template, so you can use any clear format that shows all four parts. These templates follow the Annex B order. They are independent resources, not official DepEd documents.
Which ILAW Template Should You Use?
- ILAW lesson plan: the header fields (including the Declaration of AI Use) and all four ILAW parts, in the Annex B order.
- Multi-session plan: the same plan with the flow split into Sessions 1 to 4, because ILAW plans by session, not by weekday.
- Lesson planning self-check: the nine statements from Annex A with Yes, Not Yet and notes, for reflection and coaching.
- For learners with disabilities, see the IEP templates; for Ways Forward, the intervention log templates.
How to Fill In an ILAW Lesson Plan
- Start with Intentions: the competency, two or three clear objectives and a note on your learners.
- Plan the Learning Experience: a short pre-lesson, the flow of activities, your resources and any links to other subjects.
- Add a formative check you will use during the session, with accommodations so every learner can show what they know.
- After teaching, fill in Ways Forward: what to reteach or extend, and your reflections.
Keep it short: the order asks for clear, aligned plans, not long ones, and schools may not ask for extra sections. Print on long bond at 100%, or fill it in on screen and share it with your co-teachers.
How to Print at the Right Size
Print at 100% on long bond (8.5 x 13 in) or A4. Choose Folio or Long in your printer settings for long bond, not Legal.
