This free teacher planner for 2026–27 gives you 14 Word documents on A4 and US Letter: a complete planner, and each part on its own: a year at a glance, monthly calendars, a weekly planner, a class list, a parent contact log and meeting notes. I’m Patrick Elliott, a teacher and Inclusion Lead. I set up a new planner every September, so I built this one in Word with equal rows, the right week start for each country and every part as its own file.
In this guide, you’ll find what each page is for, how the A4 and US Letter versions differ, and how to set the planner up before the first day of term.

What Is a Teacher Planner?
A teacher planner keeps a school year in one place: key dates, weekly lessons, the class list and notes from conversations with families. The A4 version runs from September 2026 to August 2027 with weeks that start on Monday; the US Letter version runs from August 2026 to July 2027 with weeks that start on Sunday.
Which Teacher Planner Pages Should You Use?
- Complete planner: 18 pages with a cover, the year at a glance, 12 months, a weekly planner, a class list, a contact log and meeting notes.
- Year at a glance: the whole school year on one page, for term dates and events.
- Monthly calendars: twelve months with room for notes.
- Weekly planner: five days by eight periods, landscape, to print one per week.
- Class list, contact log and meeting notes: thirty learners with birthdays and notes, every conversation with families, and actions from meetings.
How to Set Up Your Teacher Planner
- Choose A4 or US Letter: each has the right months and week start for that school year.
- Type your name, school, class and room on the cover.
- Add term dates and events to the year at a glance and the monthly calendars.
- Type your timetable into the weekly planner once, save a copy, then print one for each week.
Print the complete planner double-sided and put it in a ring binder, so you can add more weekly pages through the year. Keep the contact log and class list private: they hold personal information about learners and families.
How to Print at the Right Size
Print at 100% on A4 or US Letter, double-sided for the complete planner. The weekly planner and contact log are landscape pages.
