These free weekly planner templates give you 10 editable Word documents for planning a week at home, at work or in school: a weekly planner with a to-do list, a portrait weekly planner, an hourly weekly schedule template that also works as a daily schedule, a teacher weekly planner and a homework planner. I’m Patrick Elliott, a teacher and Inclusion Lead. I use a weekly planner every Sunday evening to plan lessons and family life, so I made versions for teachers, homework and an hourly schedule as well as a simple to-do list.

In this guide, you’ll find which weekly planner suits your week, how to type your plans straight into Word, and how to print the planners at full size.

Which Weekly Planner or Weekly Schedule Template Should You Use?

  • Weekly planner with to-do list: a lined box for every day and a to-do box, on one landscape page.
  • Portrait weekly planner: the week down the page with lines for each day and space for notes, ideal for a binder.
  • Hourly weekly schedule: every hour from 7 am to 8 pm, for shifts, clubs, revision or family routines.
  • Teacher weekly planner: six lessons a day from Monday to Friday, with break and lunch rows and a time for each lesson.
  • Homework planner: subject, homework, due date and a done box for every school day.

How to Fill In a Weekly Planner in Word

  1. Type the date on the Week of line at the top.
  2. Click in a box and type your plan. Press Down Arrow to move to the next line or Tab to move to the next box.
  3. Save a copy with your regular plans, such as a timetable or weekly routine, so you only change what is new each week.
  4. Print the planner, or keep it open in Word and update it as the week goes on.

Need a whole month at a glance instead? Try the blank calendar templates, which work for any month and year.

How to Print at the Right Size

Print a stack of planners at once and keep them in a folder, or type into the boxes in Word each week and print the finished plan.

FAQs

Which planner suits teachers?

The teacher weekly planner has a column for each lesson or period, Monday to Friday.

Is there a planner for homework?

Yes. The homework planner lists each subject for the week with space to tick work off.

Can I type in the weekly planner in Word?

Yes. Every planner is a Word table, so you can type in the boxes, change the colours or add rows before you print.

Does the weekly planner start on Monday or Sunday?

The A4 planners start on Monday and the US Letter planners start on Sunday. The teacher and homework planners run Monday to Friday.

Can I use the weekly planner every week?

Yes. Nothing is dated, so you write the week on the top line and reuse the same template all year.

Can I use it as a weekly or daily schedule template?

Yes. The hourly weekly schedule has a row for every hour of the day, so it works as a weekly schedule template or, one column at a time, as a daily schedule.

Can I plan every hour of the day?

Yes. The hourly weekly schedule has a row for every hour.

Conclusion

These weekly planner templates cover home, work and school weeks in one place, human-made by a teacher and ready to fill in from Word.

Choose your paper size above, download the ZIP, and for a full year of dates try the 2027 calendar templates.
